In connection with increasing number of questions we would like to point out again that the Czech-US social security agreement covers also the area of health insurance as of 1^st May 2016. One of the consequences of this change is that American citizens – self-employed in the Czech Republic (“živnostenský list”) are to be insured in the public health insurance system starting from 1^st May 2016 even if they do not have permanent residence in the Czech Republic.
